昨天是4月8日，Ubuntu 10.04***一个测试版（Beta 2）预定将要正式发布。对此发布，全球千万Ubuntu用户热切地期盼着，真是可以称得上“翘首以待”了。

今晨3点32分，我在 softpedia网站上最早发现Ubuntu 10.04（LTS） Beta 2正式发布的信息，心情立刻兴奋起来。这次发布，如同发射“排炮”，威力非常之大，共计发布了Ubuntu 10.04大家族的十个Beta 2测试版：
1、Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
2、Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 LTS Beta 2 ；
3、Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
4、Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
5、Ubuntu Studio 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
6、Kubuntu 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
7、Kubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 LTS Beta 2；
8、Xubuntu 10.04 Beta 2；
9、Edubuntu 10.04 Beta 2；
10、Mythbuntu 10.04 Beta 2。
有人会问：Ubuntu是干什么用的？怎么用？在此，我想把某些人最不爱听的几句话摘录如下：“Ubuntu is a community developed operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. Whether you use it at home, at school or at work Ubuntu contains all the applications you'll ever need, from word processing and email applications, to web server software and programming tools”；这里还有一句话：“Ubuntu is and always will be free of charge. You do not pay any licensing fees. You can download, use and share Ubuntu with your friends, family, school or business for absolutely nothing”。此处，短语“for absolutely nothing”是什么意思？其中文意思就是“绝对的免费”！
大家知道，目前“云计算”在国内很热，殊不知“Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud 10.04 LTS”（Ubuntu“企业云”）是绝对免费的！连“企业云”程序的源代码都是完全公开的！在商业软件圈里面，人们不愿提及Ubuntu，故意冷落 Ubuntu，甚至对其抱有敌意，是完全可以理解的。有人说，Ubuntu是垃圾；我们说，Ubuntu是黄金。这是两种全然不同的立场（或视角），我们不必见怪。
